Role Description The Biomedical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of medical equipment across the hospital. This full-time, on-site role is based in Tiruvarur and involves routine inspection, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of biomedical devices. The role includes coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance, keeping detailed service records, and supporting clinical teams in the proper use of equipment. The Biomedical Engineer will collaborate with vendors for repairs and upgrades, assist in equipment installation and acceptance testing, and contribute to decisions on equipment procurement and replacement. The individual will also help maintain compliance with relevant healthcare and safety standards and participate in staff training related to medical equipment use and basic care.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Biomedical Engineering and Clinical Engineering, including understanding of medical device functionality and hospital technology workflows.
Candidates should possess solid capabilities in Equipment Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance to manage routine servicing, calibration, and performance checks.
Candidates should possess hands-on experience working with a range of Medical Equipment, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and monitoring devices used in hospital settings.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
Knowledge of healthcare safety regulations, equipment standards, and documentation practices.
Ability to analyze technical issues, prioritize tasks, and respond promptly to equipment-related problems in a clinical environment.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clinical staff, administrators, and external service providers.
Prior experience in a hospital or clinical engineering department is an advantage.
