Role Description The Millwork Drafter role is a full-time, remote position responsible for developing detailed millwork shop drawings and documentation for residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include interpreting architectural and interior design plans, creating precise construction drawings for custom cabinetry, casework, and built-ins, and coordinating details such as finishes, hardware, and installation requirements. The drafter will collaborate with project managers, designers, and contractors to clarify scope, resolve technical issues, and ensure drawings align with project standards and local building codes. Additional responsibilities include maintaining drawing templates, organizing project files, adhering to schedule commitments, and contributing to continuous improvement of drafting workflows and quality control processes.
Qualifications
Solid understanding of Architecture and Construction Drawings, with the ability to read, interpret, and produce detailed millwork documentation.
Experience in FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment), including coordination of finishes, hardware, and design intent for custom millwork.
Proficiency in Space Planning as it relates to casework, cabinetry layouts, and functional built-in solutions.
Strong skills in CAD drafting for millwork or casework, with attention to detail, accuracy, and drawing standards.
Knowledge of woodworking materials, joinery methods, and millwork fabrication processes is highly beneficial.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate remotely with cross-functional project teams.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and follow structured project management processes.
Relevant education in architecture, interior design, engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in millwork drafting.
