Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Area Sales Manager role based in New Delhi. The Area Sales Manager will oversee sales operations within the assigned territory, including managing distributor networks, driving primary and secondary sales, and ensuring effective placement and visibility of products across retail channels. The role involves planning and executing sales strategies, monitoring sales performance, analyzing market trends, and identifying opportunities for growth. The Area Sales Manager will lead and coach a field sales team, conduct regular market visits, and maintain strong relationships with distributors, retailers, and key accounts. The position also requires coordination with marketing, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations, timely execution of promotions, and achievement of sales targets.
Qualifications
Proven experience in FMCG sales or consumer goods sales, preferably in snacks or food categories.
Strong territory management skills, including distributor handling, retail coverage planning, and route optimization.
Ability to analyze sales data, track performance metrics, and prepare accurate reports and forecasts.
Effective communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills with distributors, retailers, and internal stakeholders.
Team leadership capabilities, including mentoring field staff, driving performance, and fostering a collaborative work culture.
Knowledge of trade marketing activities, in-store merchandising, and execution of promotions and schemes.
Comfort with using basic digital tools and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting and presentations.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is an advantage.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area and work from market locations as needed.
Demonstrated integrity, customer focus, and ability to work in a fast-paced, competitive market environment.
