Medical Director, Cancer Services
Part-time (0.4 FTE) | Senior Medical Leadership Position

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced medical leader to join Cabrini Health as Medical Director, Cancer Services, providing strategic, clinical and operational leadership for cancer services across the organisation. The role provides leadership for medical oncology and haematology services and partners closely with radiation oncology services to support an integrated and contemporary cancer care model.
The Medical Director is accountable for advancing excellence in patient outcomes, clinical governance, service innovation, workforce development, research and education while ensuring the delivery of safe, sustainable and person-centred cancer care.
How you will make an impact
As a key senior medical leader, you will:
Shape the future direction of cancer services through strategic planning and service development.
Lead clinical governance, quality and safety initiatives across cancer services.
Foster multidisciplinary collaboration, clinician engagement and organisational improvement.
Drive evidence-based practice, innovation and service redesign.
Build strong partnerships with clinicians, consumers, researchers and external stakeholders.
Support research, education and leadership development through collaboration with the Cabrini Institute and multidisciplinary teams.
Represent Cabrini on key external cancer service committees and networks, including the Southern Melbourne Integrated Cancer Service Governance Group.
What we're looking for
MBBS or equivalent with relevant postgraduate specialist qualifications.
Unconditional specialist registration as a medical practitioner with AHPRA.
Strong background in medical oncology, haematology or another cancer-related specialty.
Demonstrated leadership and management experience.
Demonstrated experience in clinical governance and quality improvement.
Proven ability to lead change, innovation and service improvement.
Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder engagement skills.
Highly desirable
Master's qualification in Health Administration, Public Health, Business or a related discipline.
Experience leading service redesign and innovation programs.
