Network L3 Engineer

Experience Required- 7.5+ years
Key Responsibilities
• Install, configure and maintain network and security equipment and services.
• Troubleshoot LAN, WAN, firewall and VPN connectivity issues.
• Document network problems, troubleshooting activities and resolutions.
• Proactively monitor network availability, performance and security.
• Log, track and own network and connectivity-related issues through resolution.
• Provide design and implementation support for new network projects.
• Create technical specifications and support RFP requirements.
• Independently engage customers for network connectivity setup and related activities.
• Coordinate with customers, service providers and vendor support engineers.
• Work with vendor TAC teams for troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Maintain network device connectivity across data-center and bank-side environments.
Must-Have Technical Skills
• Strong understanding of OSI model, Ethernet, NAT, IP addressing and TCP/IP.
• Practical experience in TCP/IP network implementation and administration.
• Hands-on experience with advanced IPS/IDS/UTM technologies.
• Minimum 3 years of Data Center networking experience.
• BGP is mandatory, along with OSPF, HSRP and VRRP.
• Hands-on experience with at least one of Juniper, Cisco, Check Point or Fortinet firewalls.
• Experience with ACI-SDN and Radware.
• Strong knowledge of STP, VLAN, SVI and LACP.
• Experience with SD-WAN, particularly FortiGate and Aruba.
• Knowledge of GRE, P-VPN, P-NAT, P-Routing and firewall clustering.
• Strong understanding of TCP/UDP and IPv6.
• Experience with IOS upgrades.
• Knowledge of RADIUS and TACACS/TACACS+.
• Experience with NMS, SYSLOG and SNMP.
• Basic understanding of FTP server communication.
Equipment & Hands-On Experience
• 4–5 years of hands-on experience with network switches such as Juniper, Cisco, Mellanox, Dell and/or Arista.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco routers and enterprise network infrastructure.
• Experience with Cisco ASA, Juniper, Check Point and/or Fortinet firewalls.
• Practical knowledge of network cabling, racks and data-center infrastructure.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and network analyzers.
• Ability to troubleshoot and differentiate network, application and system-level issues.
Professional Skills
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple network and connectivity issues effectively.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical issues.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Overall experience: 8–10 years in networking/network infrastructure.
