Role Description This full-time, Civil & Structural Designer role is based in Kolkata and involves working closely with engineering teams to develop detailed civil and structural designs for industrial and infrastructure projects. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing design drawings and models for steel structures and concrete elements, supporting structural analysis, and coordinating with civil and structural engineers to ensure design accuracy and compliance with codes and standards. The role includes designing foundations, supports, and structural designs for facilities such as steel plants and , as well as reviewing designs for constructability and safety. The Civil & Structural Designer will also assist in preparing technical documentation, updating drawings based on review comments, and collaborating with project stakeholders, including procurement and construction teams.
Qualifications
Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design skills, with the ability to develop detailed layouts and design documents.
Structural Engineering and Steel Structures expertise for designing and detailing structural systems and components.
Experience working on projects related to ferrous and non-ferrous industries
Proficiency in relevant CAD and structural detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD, STAAD-PRO, Tekla, or equivalent).
Solid understanding of applicable design codes, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to accuracy and detail.
Effective communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams.
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
Minimum 8 years experience in civil/structural design within consulting or EPC environments is advantageous.
