About the role and team
Community Operations at Uber brings together operational expertise, technology, and program leadership to solve complex problems at scale. As a Program Specialist IV within the Tech Transformations team, you will play a senior individual contributor role supporting automation, process improvement, and operational excellence across multiple regions and business areas.
This role sits at the intersection of Operations, Program Management, Product, Technology, and Automation. You will work on programs from intake and discovery through requirements, development, testing, launch, stabilization, and benefits realization.
You will partner with regional operations leaders, program teams, automation developers, engineering and product stakeholders, and other cross-functional partners. The role requires strong ownership, sound judgment, and the ability to influence without direct authority.
What you’ll do
Lead automation and process-transformation programs across multiple regions and stakeholder groups.
Own programs from intake and discovery through development, UAT, go-live, and stabilization.
Translate business problems into clear plans, milestones, dependencies, and outcomes.
Partner with Operations, Product, Engineering, and Automation teams to design scalable solutions.
Manage stakeholder alignment on scope, priorities, timelines, and risks.
Maintain program documentation, reporting, and governance.
Identify opportunities for automation, simplification, and productivity improvement.
Track delivery outcomes and help measure business impact.
Proactively identify and resolve risks, dependencies, and blockers.
Support portfolio planning and prioritization across active initiatives.
Mentor Program Specialists and help strengthen program management practices.
Represent the COE Automations team in senior stakeholder discussions.
Basic Qualifications
4+ years of experience in project management, program management, operations, business transformation, or a related field.
Experience leading cross-functional projects or programs with multiple stakeholders and dependencies.
Strong program management skills, including planning, prioritization, stakeholder management, and delivery tracking.
Ability to take ambiguous problems and turn them into structured plans.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in project or program management.
Experience with automation, process improvement, or technology-enabled programs.
Experience working in customer support, operations, or shared services environments.
Experience partnering with Product, Engineering, Data, or Business Systems teams.
Familiarity with automation tools or low-code platforms.
Experience measuring program impact through productivity, savings, quality, or capacity metrics.
Experience mentoring other team members.
