Java Developer | Build Systems That Guide Aircraft, Not Ads

Location: Bucharest Orhideea, Romania
🛫 Your code will run where failure isn't an option
We're Thales ECC Bucharest, one of the fastest-growing engineering centers in the city. We build software for air traffic, defence, and critical infrastructure across Europe. Not another CRUD app. Systems that stay up when everything else goes down.
THE WORK:
Java backend engineering across the full lifecycle, on long-horizon European programs. REST APIs, services, and platforms with real domain complexity, real users, real stakes.
YOUR STACK:
Java 11+, Spring / Spring Boot, microservices, REST, CI/CD. Kafka, Docker, K8s are a plus, not a gate.
YOU:
2+ years as a Java or backend engineer, curiosity about the domain, and the patience to build things that last a decade, not a sprint. Not ticking every box? Apply anyway. We hire for trajectory, not checklists.
🤝🧑‍💼 WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU:
Competitive package, private medical care, meal tickets, flexible/hybrid working, learning budget and certifications, and the stability of a group that has been building critical technology for 130 years.
🗼 FRENCH TRACK:
French is a multiplier here, never a requirement. Our French-language programs are growing quicker than we can staff them, and if you speak it, we pay attention to that in the offer.
🚀 WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
This is an open door, not a single vacancy. We hire Java continuously across our programs. Apply in five minutes, no cover letter. Answer a few short questions about your stack and seniority, and a recruiter dedicated to your domain takes it from there. When the right project opens, you're matched first, at your level, on your timeline.
5️⃣⏱️ One application. Five minutes. No cover letter.
