This Position reports to:
R&D Team Lead
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity o contributes to the development, integration and verification of core protection products for electrical power systems, combining protection algorithms, power-system analysis, embedded product development, simulation, testing and release activities with strong technical ownership.

This role is contributing to the Electrification Business Distribution Solutions Division in Bangalore, India
You will be mainly accountable for:
Perform simulation-based validation using power-system models and test scenarios; RTDS experience is mandatory and translate protection requirements and power-system use cases into technical specifications, algorithms, settings and implementation concepts.
Analyze fault behavior, relay operating characteristics, selectivity, sensitivity, stability and coordination under normal, abnormal and transient conditions
Own activities across the product lifecycle from requirements and design through implementation, verification, issue resolution and release.
Develop and enhance protection functions for MV/HV applications, including overcurrent, earth-fault, voltage/frequency, directional and other relevant protection elements.
Develop and execute tests covering nominal operation, fault conditions, boundary cases, failure scenarios and protection-logic interactions. Support integration of protection functions with embedded software, I/O, communication interfaces and product hardware.
Contribute to design reviews, verification reports, technical documentation and release readiness.
Qualifications for the role :
B.E./B. Tech or M.E./M. Tech in Electrical Engineering from NITs, IITs, Power Systems, Power Electronics or a closely related discipline with 3–6 years of relevant experience in power-system protection, protection relays, numerical relays, power electronics or related product development.
RTDS / Real-Time Digital Simulation and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing experience is a strong advantage
Hands-on understanding of protection functions, relay characteristics, coordination/selectivity and protection application concepts.
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, ETAP, Power Factory, PSSE, or equivalent simulation/analysis tools is desirable.
Strong knowledge of power-system fundamentals, fault analysis, symmetrical components and protection principles.
Understanding of embedded product architecture; exposure to embedded C/C++ and debugging is desirable. Knowledge of IEC 61850, GOOSE and Sampled Values is an advantage.
Ability to interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, protection settings and disturbance/waveform records.
