We are looking for a Research Fellow to work on the development and testing of thermal technologies for solid waste valorization. The role will focus on experimental work in laboratory and will be related to the application of heterogeneous catalysis, pyrolysis and carbon capture for solid waste treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct experimental work on thermal waste treatment technologies (pyrolysis, carbon capture, solid carbon and hydrogen generation).
Design, procure, install and operate experimental prototypes;
Investigate performance of catalysts, system configuration and process conditions that influence the yield and quality of outputs from waste;
Develop improvements in catalyst formulation and system design to mitigate the factors decreasing quality and yield of outputs;
Characterize samples and interpret the results (N2 adsorption, Raman, FESEM, TEM, XPS, XRD, TGA, TPO, TPR, GC-MS, etc.);
Liaise with project collaborators;
Publish research papers and document developed intellectual property.
Report the progress to stakeholders (internal and external).
