Role Description As a Fashion Designer Intern at TheDarkStore, you will support the design team in creating apparel concepts that align with the brand’s aesthetic and sustainability goals. Day-to-day tasks include assisting in developing mood boards, sketching design ideas, selecting textiles, and preparing specifications for new garments. You will help with fittings, sample reviews, and incorporating embroidery and other detailing into designs. The internship role also involves collaborating with team members on collection planning, researching current trends, and organizing digital design files. This is a remote internship role, allowing you to work closely with the team online while gaining hands-on experience in contemporary, conscious fashion.
Qualifications
Foundational skills in Fashion Design and Fashion concepts, including sketching and translating ideas into garment designs.
Knowledge of Textiles and fabric properties, with an understanding of how materials impact fit, comfort, and sustainability.
Experience or interest in Embroidery and decorative techniques for enhancing apparel aesthetics.
Ability to support garment Fitting processes, including reviewing samples and providing feedback on fit and construction.
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a fashion-related program (e.g., Fashion Design, Textile Design, Apparel Production) or equivalent practical experience.
Proficiency with basic design tools (such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or similar fashion design software) is an asset.
Strong attention to detail, creative thinking, and the ability to follow design guidelines and brand direction.
Effective remote collaboration skills, including clear communication, time management, and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
