Senior Electronics Engineer
Harlow | Hybrid Working (Minimum 3 Days On Site)

Raytheon UK is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join our high-performing Assured Position, Navigation and Timing (APNT) team. Working at the forefront of digital GPS Anti-Jam technology, you'll play a pivotal role in developing advanced electronic systems that support defence and military customers across the globe.
This is an opportunity for an experienced electronics engineer to take ownership of complex hardware designs from concept through to production, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and influencing the future direction of innovative defence solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead the design and development of advanced electronic subsystems and hardware architectures
Drive schematic capture, component selection, PCB design support, circuit simulation and verification activities
Work closely with Systems, Software, RF and Mechanical Engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions
Develop requirements and ensure designs meet relevant defence and industry standards
Support products through prototype, integration, testing and production phases
Produce technical documentation and present designs at reviews
Mentor and support junior engineers within the team
What You'll Bring
Extensive experience designing embedded digital electronics and microprocessor-based systems
Strong knowledge of:
FPGA and SoC technologies
ADC/DAC devices
SRAM and Flash memory
High-speed digital interfaces (LVDS, JESD)
Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART and RS422
Experience taking hardware designs from prototype through to manufacture
Understanding of signal integrity, power integrity and design-for-manufacture principles
Ability to analyse complex technical challenges and communicate solutions effectively
Eligibility for, or current holding of, SC Security Clearance
Desirable Experience
Xilinx FPGA technologies
Mentor Xpedition and SPICE tools
MATLAB/Simulink modelling
DO-254 compliant development
APNT or similar defence-domain systems
Environmental qualification testing including EMC, vibration and shock
