Mid-Level Software Engineer (Full Stack Developer) - Mumbai

Java and Spring are our primary backend technologies, with Angular and TypeScript on the frontend.
Responsibilities
Participate in the full product lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, configuration, and deployment
Develop software using Agile methodologies, including Behaviour Driven Development (BDD) and Continuous Deployment practices
Provide ongoing maintenance, enhancements, and defect fixes for Smartstream solutions and internal toolkits
Follow Smartstream's engineering processes, coding guidelines, and quality standards
Build scalable, resilient, and high-performance software solutions that meet the stringent requirements of global financial institutions
Design, implement, and execute comprehensive unit and integration test suites
Develop automation solutions to streamline and enhance the software development lifecycle
Must-Have Skills
Strong professional experience with Java 8/17+ and Angular 15+
Hands-on proficiency with Git, Maven, NPM, and Jenkins Pipelines
Deep understanding of Spring Framework and Spring Boot microservices architecture
Experience with RESTful APIs and Swagger/OpenAPI
Practical experience working with SQL on relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Postgres
Experience using AI tools such as Kiro, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot in development
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Good to Have
Experience with containerisation technologies: Docker/Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift
Understanding of AI technologies such as MCP
Exposure to cloud technologies, preferably AWS
Experience
5+ years of software engineering experience, having progressed from a junior/associate engineering role
Experience developing in a software vendor environment is desirable but not required
Financial software experience would be a bonus but is not expected
Education
Engineering graduate with a Computer Science / Information Technology background, or similar
