Technical Transition Lead
Location: Hampshire (onsite 5 days per week)
Due to the nature of the work and the customers we support, the successful candidate must be eligible to meet UK Government and contractual personnel security requirements, including the applicable residency requirements for the role, and have the right to work in the United Kingdom. Some roles may also be subject to nationality requirements where these are necessary to meet UK Government or contractual security obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical transition plan, coordinating onboarding of DXC services and exit of incumbent suppliers.
Act as the key technical interface between DXC, incumbent suppliers, internal stakeholders and security teams.
Provide technical oversight across cloud and on-premises infrastructure, networks, enterprise platforms, service desk and ITSM.
Ensure security, compliance and accreditation requirements are met, including data protection and protective monitoring.
Lead operational readiness, acceptance testing, service validation and knowledge transfer to ensure DXC is ready to support live services from day one.
Manage technical risks, dependencies and transition issues through to cutover and operational handover.
Provide clear technical reporting and advice to senior stakeholders and programme governance forums.
What you'll bring:
Proven experience leading IT service transitions in complex enterprise or multi-supplier environments.
Strong knowledge of ITIL 4, service transition, release management and service validation.
Practical understanding of hybrid cloud, data centres, compute, storage and virtualisation.
Knowledge of enterprise networking and security, including firewalls, secure gateways, routing and boundary protection.
Experience transitioning service desk and ITSM environments, including major incident management, CMDB and multi-supplier tooling.
Strong supplier management skills, with the ability to hold suppliers accountable for technical deliverables and contractual commitments.
Excellent senior stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to explain technical risks and decisions clearly.
A calm, structured and collaborative approach to delivering complex transitions under pressure.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage risks, dependencies, service ownership and operational readiness through to cutover.
