Manager – Project Finance, Fund Raising & Commercial
Stemz Group | Mumbai
Location: Mumbai, with travel as required
Reporting: Global Head of Finance
Industry: Healthcare and Infrastructure
About Stemz Group
Stemz Group is a multinational healthcare group headquartered in Dubai, with operations across India, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia and Europe. The Group is expanding into new healthcare and infrastructure projects in India, including projects under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.
Role Purpose
We are looking for a finance professional who can raise and structure capital for new projects, and bring strong commercial and financial discipline to their execution.
The role will lead fund raising for the Group’s projects, with a focus on structures that rely on project cash flows and contract strength rather than promoter support or hard collateral. It will also own commercial finance, contract negotiation and financial control for projects under development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Fund Raising & Project Structuring
Lead fund raising for Group projects end to end: funding strategy, lender and investor outreach, due diligence, sanction, documentation and disbursement.
Structure project funding on a non-recourse or limited-recourse basis, using appropriate security and credit enhancement mechanisms.
Put together the right mix of debt, structured finance, equity, grants and bridge finance for each project.
Arrange EPC and equipment-linked funding, including vendor financing, leasing and export-credit-backed options.
Build bankable financial models and lender-ready information memoranda and term sheets.
Evaluate PPP bid and concession economics, and access government support schemes where eligible.
Manage lender and investor relationships after funding, including drawdowns, covenant compliance and reporting.
2. Funding Network & Global Capital
Build and use strong relationships with financial institutions, leading banks and NBFCs.
Access startup and innovation capital, including incubators, venture debt funds and government schemes.
Engage development finance institutions, international banks and private credit funds for short-term and long-term capital.
Work with Group Finance, Tax and Legal to structure cross-border funding efficiently, using the Group’s international presence where it adds value.
Maintain a Group funding pipeline and lender / investor tracker.
3. Commercial Finance & Controls
Lead the financial and commercial evaluation of vendor, EPC, equipment and service-provider proposals, and take part in commercial negotiations.
Manage project budgets, CAPEX / OPEX tracking, cash-flow planning and commitments; flag cost overruns and commercial risks early.
Ensure accurate accounting, monthly closing, MIS and audit support for project entities, in line with Group policies.
Prepare regular management dashboards on project finances, funding status and key risks.
Act as finance SPOC for assigned projects with internal teams, lenders, investors and government authorities.
Candidate Profile
Must have
Chartered Accountant (CA); CFA or MBA (Finance) an advantage.
8–12 years of post-qualification experience, with significant experience in project finance, infrastructure finance or fund raising.
A proven track record of raising working capital and project funding, with details of deals personally led and the structures used.
Experience raising funding on a cash-flow basis with limited promoter support.
Strong relationships with financial institutions and leading banks.
Strong financial modelling and commercial negotiation skills.
Good to have
Exposure to PPP / EPC projects in infrastructure or healthcare.
Experience with an infrastructure developer, EPC company, lender’s project finance team or a project finance advisory practice.
Links with venture debt funds, incubators, DFIs or international lenders, and working knowledge of cross-border funding regulations.
Healthcare sector exposure.
Personal attributes: clear communicator, confident with senior bankers, investors and government authorities; self-driven and comfortable in a fast-moving project environment while staying within Group finance governance.
What We Are Looking For
This is not an accounting role. We want someone who can open doors with lenders and investors, structure deals that work, negotiate well on commercials, and help take projects from concept to financial closure and operations.
