The Role
The Senior Manager, Facilities & Engineering is responsible for the reliability, maintenance, and uptime of a mission-critical facility. This role leads engineering operations, oversees a multidisciplinary team, and ensures the safe and efficient operation of electrical, HVAC, UPS, generator, fire protection, and building automation systems.
The position manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, vendor performance, regulatory compliance, and employee development while supporting facility projects, budgets, and operational improvements.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead daily engineering operations for a 24/7 critical facility environment.
Ensure reliability and uptime of power, cooling, HVAC, UPS, generator, fire protection, and building automation systems.
Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for all building infrastructure.
Manage, develop, and train engineering staff; drive performance and succession planning.
Direct and oversee vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with safety, security, and operational standards.
Support facility projects, budgets, capital improvements, and change management processes.
Review maintenance logs, work orders, inspections, and operational reports for accuracy and completion.
Coordinate emergency response activities and critical system recovery procedures.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, ISO standards, and company engineering requirements.
Maintain documentation, maintenance schedules, training programs, and operational controls to mitigate risk.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
5+ years of experience in similar role in a 24x7 mission critical operation
Demonstrated complete knowledge in electrical and mechanical equipment and systems.
Previous management experience
Technical training or Associates/Bachelor’s degree in a relevant (mechanical or electrical engineering) field
The Team
The Engineering Team is responsible for the 365/24/7 monitoring/triage and maintenance for all critical infrastructure systems. The team works to ensure equipment operates reliably, and the uptime for all facilities is supported.
Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
Fidelity is transitioning to a full-time onsite working model through a phased rollout across regions and roles. Currently, some roles and locations require 100% onsite presence, while others require less. Onsite expectations are likely to evolve as the rollout continues. This transition does not apply to fully remote roles.
