Job Description: R&D Engineer / Scientist II
Honeywell India Technology Center, Gurugram, is seeking a talented R&D Engineer/Scientist II to join our innovative team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in process engineering fundamentals, pilot plant testing, process modeling, catalyst and adsorbent technologies, and technology integration to advance cutting-edge solutions across Honeywell UOP's diverse technology portfolio. Roles And Responsibilities
Lead and support new product development initiatives for technologies serving the refining, petrochemical, and natural gas processing industries.
Design, execute, and troubleshoot laboratory and pilot plant experiments, independently analyze results, and effectively communicate findings to global stakeholders.
Apply strong engineering and scientific fundamentals to solve technical challenges and generate innovative ideas aligned with business objectives.
Collaborate with global R&D and Technical Services teams to develop and enhance process design guidelines and best practices.
Monitor and evaluate patents, technical publications, and industry developments to identify emerging opportunities and maintain technical competitiveness.
Foster strong collaboration across global R&D centers to leverage shared learnings, eliminate duplication of effort, and maximize project efficiency.
Utilize Six Sigma methodologies and statistical tools to drive data-based decision making and continuous improvement.
Contribute to additional technical and project activities as required to support organizational goals.
Champion a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and laboratory operational standards.
Basic Candidate Requirements
PhD/M. Tech in Chemical Engineering OR PhD/M. Sc in Chemistry with 1-3 years’ experience in adsorbent/heterogeneous catalyst synthesis, characterization, and performance evaluation. Advanced degrees are desirable.
Additional Candidate Qualifications:
Experience in UniSim and ASPEN is plus.
Knowledge of UOP technologies: Refining/Petrochemicals/Gas Processing applications.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong demonstration of teamwork abilities.
Ideal candidate should have an aptitude to work in R & D setting and have a bias for action.
Ability to travel up to 10% on an annual basis.
Familiar with Six-Sigma tools and their application.
