An exciting opportunity has arisen for an MEP Cost Manager, to join our busy Industrial, Science and Technology team in our Warsaw office. Cost Managers support commissions of varying sizes and complexity. As part of the IST team, the Cost Manager will work collaboratively with clients, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
The role will involve both pre- and post-contract cost management activities. Candidates with a good understanding of MEP packages, procurement and cost management will be particularly well suited to the position.
Key accountabilities
Service Delivery (Client Experience)
Conducting feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
Applying Value Management techniques at the outset of a project and where appropriate involving Turner & Townsend’s specialist Value Management team.
Undertaking estimating and cost planning activities, including taking ownership of and presenting final cost plans.
Managing the procurement process, ensuring that all stages, including pre-qualification, enquiry, analysis, selection and contract preparation, are performed effectively.
Managing and maintaining effective change control throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensuring that cost checking and valuation work is managed effectively.
Ensuring the production of monthly post-contract cost reports.
Undertaking value engineering and identifying opportunities for cost optimisation.
Ensuring that final accounts are negotiated and agreed.
Taking a lead role in interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
Working closely with the wider IST team to support the commercial and cost management of relevant work packages.
Applying knowledge of MEP systems and packages, where applicable, to support cost planning, procurement, valuation and change management activities.
Previous experience in cost management / quantity surveying within construction or related sectors.
MEP cost management experience is preferred.
Experience working on complex, technically demanding projects would be advantageous.
Experience across both pre-contract and post-contract stages.
Strong understanding of cost planning, procurement, valuations, change control and reporting.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary IST team.
Strong client-facing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
Based in, or able to work from, Warsaw.
