Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Missile Defense Integration offers an excellent opportunity for a Sr Principal Information Systems Project Mgr – Proj Engr (25-522) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. Based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Schriever Space Force Base, CO, this role is essential to supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at the strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not provide relocation assistance and requires on-site work with no remote options.
Position Overview:
The Project Engineer will work closely with the Task Order 60 (TO60) leadership team to manage, coordinate, and oversee cross-Agile Release Train and cross-functional Product Team efforts associated with TO60 projects, TO60 contract proposals, and contract modifications. In this role, the selected candidate will support the planning and execution of technical scope, schedule, and cost inputs for changes, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and other customer engineering estimate requests.
This individual will support the development of TO60 Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) objective evidence, lead the collection of IMS status accounting, and support cross-spiral deconfliction, cross-Functional Area coordination, and schedule/resource issue resolution across TO60 efforts.
Essential Functions:
Work with TO60 leadership to manage, coordinate, and oversee cross Agile Release Train and cross Functional Product Team efforts for TO60 projects, proposals, and contract modifications
Support planning and execution of technical scope, schedule, and cost inputs for changes, ECPs, and other customer engineering estimate requests
Develop and maintain TO60 IMS objective evidence and perform regular IMS status accounting
Coordinate cross spiral activities to ensure effective de-confliction of schedules, dependencies, and technical interfaces
Facilitate cross Functional Area coordination to resolve schedule, resource, and integration issues
Provide project leadership across sustainment and development lifecycle activities, including deployment execution
Represent TO60 efforts in internal and external meetings, providing clear status on cost, schedule, and technical performance
Basic Qualifications:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Engineering, Project Management, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from an accredited university, along with 8 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 6 years of relevant work experience; or 12 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope Government-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Willingness to travel 10% of the time for business needs
Demonstrated ability to apply extensive expertise to solve complex problems that require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity
Experience working with minimal direction; work is reviewed primarily for desired results from a long-term perspective
Proven leadership abilities to manage, coordinate, and oversee cross-functional area efforts associated with both sustainment and development of lifecycle management
Experience in project planning, cost, schedule, and performance management
Previous experience with development programs and deployment execution
Proven leadership in managing, coordinating, and overseeing cross-functional efforts spanning sustainment and development of lifecycle management
Hands‑on experience in project planning and execution, including cost, schedule, and performance tracking
Previous experience supporting development programs and deployment execution activities (e.g., fielding new capabilities, upgrades, or spiral development)
Knowledge of planning and scheduling tools, project management practices, and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) concepts
Understanding of Systems Engineering, Software Development, and Deployment Processes
Experience developing and managing project teams, integrated schedules, and resource plans
Experience in the development of lifecycles and knowledge of spiral development processes, including incremental capability delivery and integration
Preferred Qualifications:
Planning, scheduling, project management, and EVMS implementation in a program environment
Systems Engineering processes, software development lifecycles, and deployment activities
Demonstrated experience in developing and managing cross‑functional project teams and integrated program schedules
Experience with development lifecycle management and spiral development, including coordinating multiple spirals and de‑conflicting scope and resources

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
