Location: Coatesville, PA
Cleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Health & Safety Specialist at our Coatesville facility. In this role, you will partner with operations, maintenance, preparation plant, loadout, and support teams to promote a strong safety culture, support employee well-being, and ensure regulatory compliance. You will have a direct impact on reducing risk, preventing incidents, improving workplace safety, and driving continuous improvement across the operation.
Summary of Responsibilities
Support the implementation and continuous improvement of Health & Safety programs aligned with Core Values, policies, and strategic objectives.
Maintain an active presence in operational areas to provide safety coaching, mentoring, and guidance to employees and contractors.
Promote a culture of Safe Production through employee engagement, hazard recognition, and proactive risk reduction.
Assist with maintaining compliance with OSHA, and applicable state and local health, and safety regulations through inspections, audits, and policy reviews.
Conduct routine workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits to identify risks and verify corrective actions.
Participate in incident, injury, near miss, and equipment damage investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.
Partner with supervisors and leadership teams to strengthen safety accountability and reinforce safe work practices
Act as a trusted resource, problem solver, coach, and change agent to support continuous improvement in workplace safety performance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
3-5 years of experience in a Health and Safety position
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent communication (verbal and written), team building, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or a related field.
Knowledge of Safety and Health regulations
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
