ABOUT THE ROLE:
As the Accounting Manager for the business, you will own, lead, and scale the accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in full-stack accounting, including end-to-end responsibilities across Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Revenue Accounting, Invoicing, Payroll, Fixed Assets, Leases etc. and Month-End Closures processes and systems to support Hippocratic AI’s next growth stage. You will collaborate cross-departmentally to own end-to-end financial operations to manage the accounting accurately and on time and close month end books. Specifically, you will work with the corporate teams in the US and India and an outsourced bookkeeper in India (to start with) to ensure seamless operations that drive business success.
We value in-person teamwork and believe the best ideas happen together. Our team is expected to be in the office five days a week in Gurugram. This role will also require engaging with a US based team requiring some flexibility for overlapping hours with California.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Own the Accounting Function & Financial Close
- Manage the end-to-end accounting function, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Lead day-to-day accounting and the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
- Own financial compliance and deliverables for all global entities, including close, reporting, and consolidation
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements, with complete reconciliations and supporting documentation
Run AP, AR, Revenue & Expense Operations
- Oversee the full AP cycle: vendor invoice processing, reconciliation, and payments, partnering with internal teams to resolve vendor and supplier issues
- Manage AR and revenue activities, including billing, collections, reconciliations, and revenue recognition
- Prepare and analyze reports such as aging reports and payment and receivable forecasts
- Supervise the employee expense claims process and operate across multiple platforms for credit card payments, invoice processing, and travel bookings
Strengthen Controls, Compliance & Audit
- Ensure compliance with company policies and with federal, state, and local regulations
- Create and execute SOPs for accounting processes to maintain strong internal controls
- Coordinate with auditors and support all statutory audits and compliance requirements
- Drive continuous improvement and scale financial operations as the company grows
QUALIFICATIONS
MUST-HAVES:
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in accounting function
- BA-BS degree is required
- Prior work experience supporting US business with US GAAP standards.
- Experience with month-end closure processes, AP/AR, revenue, payroll and fixed asset accounting.
- Experience with financial controls, vendor/ customer management, and process optimization to drive efficiency and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers
- Experience in process automation and systems implementation
- Experience with international payment processes and multi-currency transactions
- Experience running payroll for multi-national companies
- High proficiency in Excel and experience working with financial software and systems
- Strong business acumen and a track record of holding cross-functional teams accountable and creating a culture of adhering to financial controls
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with an ability to work autonomously
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, with the ability to present complex ideas to stakeholders across teams and comfortable working in dynamic, fast paced environments
NICE-TO-HAVES:
- Experience working at a US-based B2B Enterprise SAAS company
- Qualified CA or CPA
- Experience with Quickbooks, Netsuite, Xero, Zoho Books, Ramp, Rippling, Bill.com http://Bill.com, Campfire and Navan
- Experience with Big4 / Big 6 firms or outsourced accounting functions supporting such firms
