Role Overview
The Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) Manager secures communications operations that are essential to program continuity and customer trust, while contributing to a team that values technical depth, compliance, and disciplined execution.
Roles and Responsibilities
Serve as the primary KMI Operating Account Manager (KOAM)
Manage Communication Security (COMSEC) account operations in accordance with customer and applicable government regulations
Execute COMSEC, KMI, and Electronic Key Management System (EKMS) accountability requirements, including the receipt, custody, issue, safeguarding, transfer, inventory, and destruction of COMSEC material
Utilize KMI software to document accountability actions and maintain complete, accurate, and timely records
Perform KMI registration, initialization, endorsements, and other account administration functions
Generate and distribute electronic keys from national and service-level sources to End Cryptographic Units (ECUs) and other COMSEC-enabled devices
Process incoming and outgoing COMSEC shipments and maintain all associated accountability documentation
Conduct recurring inventories, reconciliations, compliance validations, and required reporting activities
Track supersession dates, tracer actions, and submit accurate and timely accounting reports
Manage fill devices, ECUs, secure telephone equipment, and other COMSEC-related assets
Perform or support software loads, updates, troubleshooting, maintenance coordination, and lifecycle support for COMSEC and telecommunications equipment
Provide training and functional guidance to users, engineers, production personnel, assemblers, and other stakeholders on COMSEC accountability, security, compliance, and local operating procedures
Apply technical knowledge and independent judgment to resolve complex communications and COMSEC-related issues while ensuring continuity of operations and regulatory compliance
Coordinate across functional teams in support of production, manufacturing, depot, and secure communications mission requirements
Available to work rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to support 24/7 operations
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a High School diploma / GED with at least 7 years of experience in COMSEC, KMI, EKMS, telecommunications, and/or secure communications support)
Minimum of 3 years of experience in COMSEC, KMI, EKMS, telecommunications, and/or secure communications support
This role requires the successful candidate to maintain a US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. Citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold US Government Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Active Top Secret U.S. government security clearance
5+ years of experience in COMSEC, KMI, EKMS, telecommunications, and/or secure communications support
Experience managing a classified COMSEC account in accordance with applicable customer or service regulations
Experience serving in or directly supporting KOAM responsibilities
Working knowledge of COMSEC, EKMS, and KMI standards, policies, and accountability requirements
Experience with electronic key generation and distribution to ECUs
Experience in a large-scale, manufacturing, depot, or mission support environment
Experience with legacy COMSEC equipment
Experience troubleshooting COMSEC devices, ECUs, and telecommunications systems
Experience performing software loads, updates, and secure equipment initialization
Familiarity with applicable COMSEC doctrine, policies, and associated references
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, time management, and follow-through
Strong oral and written communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently with limited oversight
Flexibility to manage changing priorities and deadlines
This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
