What you will bring to the team
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking an HR Intern to support day-to-day HR operations and employee service activities in Mexico City. This role is designed for a current university student who is eager to learn, highly organized, detail-oriented, and interested in building a strong foundation in Human Resources. The intern will work closely with the local HR team, supporting employee records, HR databases, communications, site activities, and continuous-improvement projects.
What you will be doing:
Provide first-line support for routine employee questions and HR requests, escalating matters when appropriate.
Follow up with employees to obtain missing documentation and help maintain complete employee files.
Organize, safeguard, digitalize, and maintain physical and electronic employee records in accordance with established HR processes and confidentiality requirements.
Maintain employee databases, trackers, and HR information with a strong focus on accuracy and data quality.
Support SharePoint updates, HR communications, flyers, and other employee-facing materials.
Support HR activities, employee initiatives, and site events in Mexico City.
Assist with recurring reports, data validation, basic metrics, and Excel-based HR projects.
Participate in HR projects and identify opportunities to simplify, organize, or improve day-to-day processes.
Progressively take ownership of assigned activities as knowledge and experience develop.
To be successful in this role, you must have the following:
Current university student in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, Industrial Relations, or a related field.
Availability to support the HR team Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Availability to work under a hybrid model, attending the office at least 3 days per week and being available onsite on other weekdays when business needs require.
Basic English skills.
Basic Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel (filters, sorting, basic formulas, and database handling).
Strong attention to detail and ability to handle confidential employee information responsibly.
Positive attitude, willingness to learn, reliability, and consistent follow-through.
Good interpersonal skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach.
Preferred Skills:
Interest in HR data, reporting, metrics, and process improvement.
Comfort working with numbers, databases, and Excel.
Ability to organize information and identify inconsistencies or missing data.
Clear written and verbal communication.
Curiosity, self-management, and willingness to propose ideas and learn new HR processes.
Development opportunities:
Structured 6–12 month development journey across HR operations, employee experience, data quality, reporting, and continuous improvement.
Hands-on exposure to employee lifecycle processes, HR tools, SharePoint, HR communications, and site initiatives.
Opportunity to develop Excel, reporting, data analysis, project ownership, and presentation skills.
Regular feedback and development checkpoints with the HR team.
Note: This internship is intended to provide foundational HR experience. Complex Employee Relations, labor-law, or specialized HR matters remain under the responsibility of the HR team and should be escalated appropriately.
