Job Summary
Huawei is looking for a R&D Collaboration Coordinator with R&D experience of opto-electronic devices and their applications, especially for telecom related uses. We aim to embrace the fast-changing optoelectronic industry, collaborate with academia and industry partners to develop state-of-the-art technologies!
As a Business Development Coordinator, you will contribute to the strategy development and execution of the strategy for our cutting-edge semiconductor optoelectronics R&D activities. This includes analysing the technological evolution, analysing competing technologies, analysing our customer needs, identifying and developing strategic partnerships with top-tier university professors, research institutes, and high-potential startups. You will also support expanding our business footprint through external services and collaboration projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop a strategy for Huawei Ipswich Office activities.
Identify and build long-term relationships with European leading researchers and university faculty in fields such as photonics, laser physics, and advanced semiconductor materials.
Actively scout the European photoniclandscape for disruptive technologies in optoelectronics to identify potential collaboration with universities or startups.
Lead the negotiation and execution of collaboration agreements, including Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs), Intellectual Property (IP) licensing and contracts.
Plan and execute industry summits, workshops, and other R&D-related events, acting as the lead and primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders throughout the process.
Regularly produce insight reports on academic and industry developments in key research areas, leveraging active intelligence gathering, conference participation, and engagement with relevant industry events.

Person Specification:
Required:
Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field.
Understanding of semiconductor physics, optoelectronic device design and fabrication (LEDs, Lasers, Photodetectors, Modulators), photonic integrated circuits (PICs), or Electronic integrated circuits (EICs).
Understanding of the application of optoelectronic devices in ICT domain, especially in the AI computing applications.
Ability to manage multiple cross-functional works simultaneously, ensuring clear communication with external partners/customers, tracking and managing the progress of collaboration work, and reporting to technology planning team/ R&D director in a timely basis.
A "Can-Do" Attitude, solution-oriented mindset with the grit to overcome the challenges/issues on internal processes, resources, external negotiations and political environment, etc. and drive the collaboration work to completion, in compliance with laws and regulations.
A proactive, self-starter approach with the resilience required to navigate high-risk, high-reward nature of collaboration business development.
Desired:
In-depth knowledge of application of optoelectronic devices in ICT domain, especially for Data Centre/High Performance computing related applications, such as unpluggable optical transceiver modules/optical engines.
Professional working proficiency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is desired to support regular communication with HQ stakeholders and manage relevant business documentation.
