Cashier- Outlet Market

The Cashier reports to the directly to the Outlet Market Supervisor and is responsible for processing the sale of merchandise in the CPJ Outlet Market.
Duties and responsibilities may include:
Operates a cash register to compute and record total sales.
Collects cash, check, or charge payment from customer and makes change for cash transactions
Inspects merchandise prior to packaging to see that it is in satisfactory condition and verifies items with invoiced quantity for all purchases.
Facilitates customers concerns, in regards to location of product, price, and use of merchandise.
Records amounts received and prepares reports of transactions.
Consistently reviews price sheets to note price changes and sale items.
Verifies all transfers are posted daily to the system.
Prepares pick slips for presales deliveries as needed.
Ensures the processing of goods returned and subsequent credits.
Verifies and compiles the write off requests.
Checks and ensures that the lights are switched off.
Gives feedback to the Store Manager regarding customer queries and concerns
Participates in all inventory counts.
Attends meetings and training sessions as requested.
Effectively completes all other activities as delegated by the supervising authorities.
Skills and Education Qualifications
Self-motivated with the proven ability prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with employees and customers.
Ability to display a professional attitude at all times.
Should possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Well organised and methodical approach to work and the work environment.
Ability to work flexible hours as the needs of the service dictate, including out of normal hours as
required.
Ability to work within Company Policies.
An understanding of the principles of good customer service.
Knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety Regulation.
Strong counting and calculation skills are required.
Strong analytical and mathematical skills are required.
Should have at least 1 year experience in the field.
Must be comfortable with working in a retail environment, understands basic business processes and procedures
Valid Food Handlers Permit.
