About the role
Turner & Townsend is seeking an experienced Project Engineering Manager to support the delivery of complex capital projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading engineering coordination activities, managing multidisciplinary design teams, and ensuring technical solutions are delivered in alignment with project objectives, budget, schedule, quality, and operational requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and stakeholder management skills. This role requires close collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams throughout the project lifecycle to drive engineering excellence and ensure successful project outcomes.
As a key member of the project delivery team, the Project Engineering Manager will champion Turner & Townsend's values, methodologies, and best practices while providing technical leadership across all project phases.
What You'll do
Lead and manage engineering activities throughout project planning, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering and design teams to ensure alignment with project requirements and objectives.
Act as the primary technical interface between clients, consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders.
Review engineering deliverables, drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical documentation for quality, completeness, and compliance.
Support the development and implementation of project execution strategies, engineering plans, and technical standards.
Monitor engineering progress against project schedules and identify risks, constraints, and mitigation measures.
Facilitate design reviews, constructability assessments, value engineering workshops, and technical risk evaluations.
Manage design changes, technical queries, RFIs, and engineering approvals throughout the project lifecycle.
Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications.
Collaborate with project controls teams to align engineering activities with project budgets, forecasts, and milestones.
Support procurement activities, including technical bid evaluations, vendor reviews, and equipment selection.
Coordinate engineering support during construction, commissioning, testing, and startup activities.
Identify opportunities to improve project performance, technical quality, and operational efficiency.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships while delivering high-quality professional services.
Mentor junior engineering and project team members and promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
8+ years of experience in engineering management, design management, project engineering, or project delivery.
Experience delivering large-scale commercial, industrial, manufacturing, life sciences, data center, healthcare, or infrastructure projects.
Strong understanding of engineering design processes, construction methodologies, and project delivery practices.
Experience managing multidisciplinary design and engineering teams.
Knowledge of project planning, scheduling, risk management, and cost control principles.
Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Professional Engineer (PE), Chartered Engineer (CEng), PMP, or equivalent certification preferred.
