JOB SUMMARY
The Senior Buyer for Indirect Procurement is responsible for leading negotiation strategies across multiple indirect spend categories in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, and Peru. This regional role aims to strengthen relationships with strategic suppliers and ensure full compliance with Mattel procurement policies, while closely collaborating with local, regional, and global Procurement teams.
This position plays a key role in developing and implementing regional and local sourcing strategies, managing commercial contracts, supplier relationships, and supporting internal stakeholders. The role requires a high level of ethics, transparency, and a commitment to delivering added value to the business.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design and execute regional sourcing strategies for indirect categories such as facilities, legal, insurance, travel agencies, taxes, HR, IT, finance, security, and professional services.
• Lead bidding processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and develop category strategies at both, country and regional levels.
• Negotiate contracts and commercial terms with local, regional, and strategic suppliers in alignment with corporate objectives and global policies.
• Analyze proposals, run quotation processes, and perform price benchmarking before awarding projects or purchase orders.
• Ensure compliance with global Procurement and Compliance policies, as well as regulatory frameworks (FCPA, SOX).
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with suppliers, driving efficiency, innovation, and mitigation of financial and operational risks.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with all Mattel areas to ensure excellence project execution.
• Manage spend analysis, reporting, and executive presentations using digital tools (Coupa, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Foster effective collaboration with Procurement teams across LATAM and the U.S. to ensure alignment with regional and global objectives.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Procurement function.
• Coach and mentor new or junior buyers on best practices and Procurement responsibilities.
· Bachelor's Degree Business Administration and
· Bachelor's Degree nternational Business
· Minimum 5 years and above in related to procurement, indirect procurement or equivalent job function focusing in categories as facilities, legal, insurance, travel agencies, taxes, HR, IT, finance, security,
professional services and sales & marketing
· Advanced English (mandatory).
· Experience with Coupa or similar ERP systems.
· Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office suite.
· Strong negotiation, financial analysis, planning, and project management skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively in multicultural and matrix environments.
· Excellent communication, influence, and stakeholder management skills at different organizational levels. ·
· Preferably experienced in consumer goods, manufacturing, toy, electronics, or logistics industries.
· Proven experience in regional negotiations and contract management within LATAM.
