At Steadfast Health, we’re on a mission to deliver hope, healing, and long-term health to those experiencing substance use disorder, through best-in-class addiction treatment and an unwavering belief that lasting recovery comes from partnering with our patients as respected equals in their care journey.
Level & Compensation: This role will be hired at either the Manager or Director level, depending on the candidate's experience and scope of prior responsibility. We encourage candidates across this experience range to apply — we'll determine the right level together during the interview process.
Manager: Base salary $90,000 - $110,000, with a 10% performance-based bonus program
Typically 2+ years managing outpatient behavioral health/SUD clinic operations, with direct oversight of daily staffing, scheduling, and clinical workflow
Director: Base salary $110,000 - $130,000, with a 10% performance-based bonus program
Typically 5+ years in outpatient behavioral health/SUD clinic leadership, including direct P&L ownership and experience building or scaling a clinical team from the ground up
Is This You?
This role is built for a hands-on leader who has run an outpatient behavioral health, mental health, or substance use disorder treatment clinic or program, and who is energized by helping it grow. You know what it means to lead where clinical caseloads, harm reduction philosophy, and patient census directly shape daily operations.
You’ll have Steadfast’s operational playbook, clinical standards, and a dedicated Business Development partner, and an entrepreneurial spirit is encouraged here. You’ll have real ability to shape the clinic’s culture, try new approaches to community partnership, and build something that’s yours.
Whether you’re an experienced leader ready for a bigger growth challenge, or a director looking to get closer to patients, teams, and community, this role is built for you.
Why This Role Exists
Our Shaker clinic opened in December 2025. A dedicated care team is in place and our census is growing. We need a leader to develop that team, strengthen operations, and build the community relationships that expand access to care.
Responsibilities
Lead the team
Mentor and develop an established clinical and operational team through regular 1:1s, clear goals, and accountability, handling hard conversations directly and with care
Own hiring, onboarding, and development as the clinic grows with support from our Human Resources team and our VP of Learning and Development
Grow the clinic
Partner with Business Development to build referral relationships with hospitals, health providers, recovery organizations, and community groups, and represent Steadfast in the Shaker-area community
Make the path to care easy, using census, referral, and access data to guide outreach priorities
Run the clinic
Oversee daily operations, quality, compliance, and the clinic environment’s health and safety standards
Own or share accountability for the budget and key metrics: census, retention, no-show rates, access times, and productivity
Deliver harm reduction-aligned care
Champion patient-first, low-barrier, non-punitive, evidence-based care in close partnership with clinical leadership, and collaborate with other Steadfast leaders across the organization
What You Bring
Hands-on leadership of an outpatient behavioral health, mental health, or SUD clinic, program, or multi-team operation, including staffing, scheduling, and clinical workflow
Direct SUD treatment experience (such as MAT/MOUD or OTP) or comparable outpatient behavioral health experience, within a harm reduction, non-punitive care model you can speak to in day-to-day decisions
Experience building or growing something new, such as a program, team, partnership, or referral network, and the ability to tell us what you did and what resulted
A track record of quantified results you personally drove, using EHR reports, dashboards, and Excel to track KPIs
Experience leading therapists, case managers, peer support staff, and APPs, and familiarity with behavioral health regulatory and accreditation requirements (e.g., CARF, state SUD licensure)
Experience managing or contributing to budgets, revenue, and cost control
A natural relationship-builder with community ties
Comfort with conflict, energy for change and variety, and careful attention to detail
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30a - 5:00p ET. This may evolve as Steadfast grows, including occasional community events outside regular hours.
Benefits
Healthcare Coverage: Medical, dental, and vision insurance
Time Off: Flexible time off with generous PTO, floating paid holidays, and paid volunteer days
Re-Fuel Days: 4 additional paid days off per year for mental health, rest, or continuing education (CEU) activities
Continuing Education: Annual CEU support & ongoing paid training
Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Free, confidential access to therapist sessions, legal guidance, financial resources, health coaching, and more
401K Match up to 5%
100% employer-paid short-term and long-term disability and employer-sponsored life insurance
SoFi student loan interest rate discount, Rightway Health Concierge, 1 year free pet Telehealth through Pawp, and Perkspot Discount Marketplace
An opportunity to get in at the ground level and shape how we grow!
