As part of the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) operating unit, we share one purpose: bring life-changing CRM therapies to more patients worldwide. In this highly visible role as a Quality Core Team Member - Software Quality, you will serve as the primary Quality representative on cross-functional software product development teams, partnering with engineering, regulatory, clinical, and operations stakeholders to ensure quality is embedded throughout the software development lifecycle.
You will provide quality leadership for software design controls, risk management, verification and validation activities, cybersecurity, defect management, and product release decisions while ensuring compliance with global quality system and regulatory requirements.
As a trusted member of the Core Team, you will help drive alignment, proactively manage risk, and enable effective decision-making across complex development programs.
You will also partner with Quality Systems, Regulatory, and functional stakeholders to further evolve the Quality Management System (QMS), enabling software innovation while ensuring continued compliance with global regulatory standards and industry best practices.
This role requires deep technical expertise, leadership, and collaboration skills to balance innovation, quality, compliance, and speed to market. Through a commitment to quality excellence and continuous improvement, you will play a critical role in delivering software-enabled products and supporting strategic programs across the CRM portfolio.
This position is in Mounds View, MN. within the Cardiac Rhythm Management (CRM) operating unit. A Day in the Life
In general, the following responsibilities apply for the Software Engineering Program Manager role. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
Responsible for program estimation and planning including identifying requirements, developing work plans, managing program annual and strategic budgets, building schedules, and partnering with team members and cross functional partners to determine and communicate functional and/or resource requirements.
Own and Manage execution against an aggressive but achievable program and/or project plan, provide work direction to team members, work with peer program managers, cross functional program team members to monitor dependencies and ensure critical program milestones and deliverables are met.
Collaborate with Core Team Leaders, Reliability Managers, Platform Leaders, Product Owners, Human Factors Engineers, Architects & Systems Engineers to drive the program within scope, cost, and schedule.
Lead teams of employees and vendors in delivering program commitments.
Communicate program status and issues to internal and external stakeholders regularly including Core Team Leader, Development Lead, OU and Functional Leadership, etc. Proactively manage quality, risks, and issues at all stages in the program.
Provide input for setting team members’ performance objectives and provide feedback to the functional leaders about performance against project deliverables and core competencies.
Lead Scrum events and collaborate with pre-market teams for sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
This role is the face of Quality with the Core Team and Platform leadership. Ability to communicate project status, utilize data to support quality impact, and lead teams to create products with the highest quality is part of the mission.
Qualifications
Must Have - Minimum Requirements
TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE, PLEASE BE SURE THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS ARE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME
· Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, or math and minimum of 5 years of technical work experience OR advanced degree in science, technology, engineering, or math, with 3 years of technical experience.
Nice to Have
· 5+ years of experience leading software development projects within Med-Tech industry
· Strong understanding of software and embedded systems
· High level communication skills with ability to impact and influence at various altitudes
· Creativity and change management skills to help support rapidly changing medical technology
· Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering projects in a matrix environment
· Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle
· Experience managing geographically distributed teams
· Track record of effective vendor management to deliver results
· Experience as a Scrum Master in SW teams and Scrum Master Certification
· Project Management Certification such as PMP
· Experience working in regulated environments and delivering new products in compliance with global regulatory standards
