Role Description The Commercial Loan Officer is a full-time, remote role responsible for originating, evaluating, and managing commercial loan relationships. Day-to-day tasks include identifying prospective business clients, conducting initial consultations, and gathering financial information and documentation to assess credit needs. The role involves analyzing financial statements, preparing loan proposals, coordinating underwriting, and structuring loans in alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Commercial Loan Officer will manage the loan process from application through closing, monitor existing loan portfolios, and maintain ongoing communication with clients to support renewals, cross-selling opportunities, and risk mitigation. Collaboration with internal underwriting, compliance, and operations teams is essential to ensure accurate documentation, timely processing, and a positive client experience.
Qualifications
Experience as a Commercial Loan Officer or in a similar lending role, with knowledge of commercial Loans and client relationship management.
Solid Finance skills, including financial statement analysis, cash flow evaluation, and credit risk assessment.
Underwriting experience, with the ability to review, interpret, and document credit decisions in accordance with policy and regulation.
Familiarity with SBA loan programs and guidelines, including eligibility, documentation, and compliance requirements.
Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly to business clients.
Proficiency with lending and CRM software, spreadsheets, and common office productivity tools.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in commercial lending.
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards relevant to commercial banking and small business lending.
High level of integrity, sound judgment, and commitment to non-discriminatory, inclusive client interactions.
