VP of Project Execution

Role Description The VP of Project Execution is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the end-to-end execution of new store development, remodels, and other real estate initiatives for Ulta Beauty. This role oversees project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and delivery, ensuring that real estate projects meet quality, timeline, and cost objectives. The VP partners with cross-functional teams including Real Estate, Construction, Design, Finance, and Operations to align project priorities with business goals and brand standards. Daily activities include reviewing project pipelines, managing vendor and contractor performance, mitigating risks, and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and consistency across the portfolio. The VP also provides strategic leadership to project management teams, establishes best practices and metrics, and communicates progress and outcomes to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Demonstrated expertise in project and program management, including leading complex, multi-site retail or real estate initiatives.
Strong skills in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control to manage capital projects and optimize return on investment.
Experience with construction and development processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation in a commercial or retail environment.
Proficiency in using project management tools, scheduling software, and data-driven reporting to monitor timelines, risks, and performance.
Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, foster collaboration across departments, and drive accountability and results.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills to engage executives, partners, and external stakeholders.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities, with a track record of process improvement and operational efficiency.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Real Estate, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP) are beneficial.
Significant leadership experience in retail real estate, development, construction, or related fields, preferably in a multi-unit environment.
Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, manage priorities across multiple projects, and travel as needed for site visits and meetings.
