About the Opportunity
Solutions HR is partnering with a fast-growing, venture-backed AI technology company to recruit a Director of People Operations & HR Business Partner. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on People leader who thrives in high-growth startup environments and knows how to build scalable people infrastructure while remaining closely connected to the business. Our client is looking for someone who can operate both strategically and tactically, partnering directly with senior leadership while owning the day-to-day employee experience.
What You'll Do
Build and scale People Operations infrastructure, processes, and programs to support continued growth.
Act as a strategic HR Business Partner to executives and functional leaders.
Own the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee relations, compliance, benefits coordination, and retention.
Lead organizational design initiatives, workforce planning, and people-related change.
Develop and strengthen company culture through employee engagement initiatives, events, and meaningful workplace experiences.
Oversee office operations and facilities, including vendors, space planning, and workplace management.
Ensure compliance with California employment legislation and HR best practices.
Implement and optimize HR systems, processes, and people analytics to improve operational efficiency.
What We're Looking For
7+ years of progressive experience in People Operations, HR Business Partnering, or HR leadership.
Recent experience in a high-growth technology startup, ideally Series A–C, scaling approximately 50–200 employees.
Demonstrated success building HR programs and infrastructure from the ground up.
Strong experience across both strategic HR partnering and operational HR execution.
Hands-on experience overseeing office operations, workplace management, or facilities.
Solid understanding of California employment law and compliance requirements.
Familiarity with HRIS, ATS, and performance management systems such as Rippling, Ashby, Lattice, Greenhouse, or Justworks.
Ability to influence senior leaders while remaining comfortable executing independently.

Important Details
