Role Description This is a full-time, on-site MEP Draftsman role based in Chandigarh. The MEP Draftsman will prepare detailed mechanical, electrical, and plumbing drawings, including plans, sections, and layouts, in accordance with project specifications and relevant codes. Responsibilities include converting design concepts and engineering inputs into accurate technical drawings, revising drawings based on review comments, and maintaining organized drawing files and documentation. The role involves close coordination with engineers and other team members to ensure consistency across disciplines, checking drawings for quality and completeness, and supporting the preparation of drawings for client approvals and construction. The MEP Draftsman will also assist in updating designs during project execution and contribute to continuous improvement of drafting standards and templates.
Qualifications
Strong skills in Mechanical/ Electrical Drawings and Design Engineering for building services and MEP layouts.
Proficiency in Technical Drawing and Engineering Drawings, including plans, sections, and detailed views.
Hands-on experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software relevant to MEP drafting (e.g., AutoCAD or similar tools).
Understanding of MEP systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, electrical) and basic building codes or standards.
Ability to interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and markups with high attention to detail and accuracy.
Relevant diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related technical discipline.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with engineers, project managers, and site teams.
Capability to manage multiple drawing assignments, meet deadlines, and maintain organized project documentation.
