Job Description: Senior Tridium -Niagara -Engineering Leader -Data Centre controls with focus on Energy Management strategies, Tools developments for upgrading the existing BAS/DC controls database infrastructure to be eventually AI ready.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Data Centre controls /Energy Management Systems Execution leader to lead and oversee projects we are currently working in the US and Japan and upcoming projects in Europe. This is multidisciplinary Engineering leader Role needing a proven track record of managing engineering of complex Data centre/ BAS projects remotely in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
Project Ownership: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of BAS projects in the US and Europe market, ensuring alignment with customer requirements, budgets, and timelines.
Technical Leadership- System Optimization: Ensure Data Canters control systems (Including HVAC, lighting, energy management, etc.) are designed, installed, and maintained to maximize energy efficiency, and Data centre KPI. Familiarity with Ontologies, Haystack, BrickSchema and all the foundation blocks necessary for onward AI implementation. This is not just controls implementation work. It needs good understanding and experience of Mechanical /Electrical systems
Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
Quality Assurance: Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, BACnet, LEED) and local regulations in the US and Europe.
Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage project budgets, allocate resources effectively, and monitor costs to ensure profitability.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in project execution and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
Technology Integration: Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends, integrating innovative solutions to enhance system performance and client satisfaction.
Reporting and Documentation: Provide regular project updates, performance metrics, and detailed reports to senior management and clients.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in Data Centre Projects or Building Automation/Management Systems, with at least 3 years in a Engineering leadership role. Proven experience leading remote teams on DC/BAS projects in the US and Europe. DATA centre projects experience is essential.
Demonstrated success in managing end-to-end BAS project lifecycles, from design to commissioning and maintenance.
Technical Skills:
In-depth knowledge of BAS protocols (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks) and systems (e.g., Tridium Niagara, Distech, Lynxspring , Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls).
Our focus is open systems so anyone with Tridium skills will have an advantage.
Proficiency in project management tools and remote collaboration platforms
Familiarity with energy management systems, IoT integration, and smart building technologies.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to motivate and manage remote, cross-cultural teams.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt to changing project demands.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering. Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
Certifications (preferred-if you have it ):
Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Building Operator Certification (BOC), or similar.
Familiarity with LEED, WELL, or other green building standards.
Other Requirements:
Ability to work across US and European time zones, with flexibility for occasional travel to project sites.
Strong understanding of regional regulations and standards for building systems in the US and Europe.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with large-scale Data Canter, Critical Infrastructure, industrial-Semi industrial, or institutional BAS projects.
Background in integrating renewable energy systems or retrofitting legacy BAS systems.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for BAS networks.
