Role Description This is a remote, contract role for a Freelance Translator. The Freelance Translator will translate a range of business and strategy-focused materials, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across languages. Day-to-day tasks include translating documents, presentations, and digital content; localizing terminology to reflect economic and organizational concepts; and revising or proofreading translated texts for style and coherence. The role involves collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand context and intended meaning, maintaining glossaries and style guides, and meeting agreed deadlines. The translator is expected to manage their own workload, communicate progress clearly, and handle assignments of varying length and complexity.
Qualifications
Strong translation and localization skills, with the ability to accurately convey complex business and economic concepts between at least two working languages.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading abilities, with attention to tone, consistency, and clarity in the target language.
Ability to conduct contextual and terminological research to ensure precise use of industry, strategy, and organizational terminology.
Familiarity with digital tools for translation and content management (e.g., CAT tools, document collaboration platforms, and basic file formats).
Effective communication and time management skills, including the capacity to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
Understanding of business, consulting, or professional services environments is highly beneficial; prior experience translating analytical or technical content is a plus.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Translation, Linguistics, Languages, or a related field is preferred.
