Role Description
The Blockchain Developer / Smart Contract Engineer / Blockchain Engineer designs, develops, and maintains blockchain applications and infrastructure. Depending on the assigned specialization, the role involves building decentralized applications, implementing smart contracts, or developing integrations and services that connect blockchain networks with business systems.
The successful candidate will collaborate with product, engineering, and security teams to deliver reliable and secure solutions. This position also tests contract behavior, investigates vulnerabilities, monitors deployed systems, and maintains technical documentation throughout the development lifecycle.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant experience in blockchain development, smart contract engineering, or backend software development.
Understanding of distributed systems, blockchain transactions, consensus mechanisms, and cryptographic principles.
Proficiency in languages relevant to the target platform, such as Solidity, Rust, Go, or TypeScript.
For application-focused positions, experience integrating wallets, blockchain APIs, contract interfaces, and on-chain data.
For smart contract positions, experience developing and testing contracts, managing access controls, and assessing vulnerabilities such as reentrancy and transaction-ordering risks.
For infrastructure-focused positions, familiarity with nodes, RPC services, indexing, network monitoring, and scalability.
Ability to write unit, integration, and security-focused tests and support code reviews.
Familiarity with transaction fees, contract deployment, upgrade mechanisms, and key management.
Experience with version control, CI/CD workflows, and production troubleshooting.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and commitment to secure development practices.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
A portfolio of relevant projects or open-source contributions is an advantage.
