Job summary
The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the teams that build, industrialize and operate Cimatron’s DevOps capabilities and AI-enabled product features. The role ensures that AI capabilities move from approved product requirements into secure, maintainable and measurable software features, while strengthening CI/CD, release automation, engineering environments, observability and increased productivity across the Cimatron software lifecycle. The position combines software engineering leadership, operational execution, AI product delivery, cross-functional coordination and local leadership for Cimatron within the India Innovation Hub.
Management line and team: This position reports to the R&D Director and leads a team of DevOps and AI software engineers. The role works closely with the R&D Director, Product Management, QA, Software Architecture and CAD/CAM development team, and other R&D team members to ensure reliable software delivery, platform readiness, and successful integration of AI features into Cimatron products.
Key Responsibilities
DevOps, CI/CD and Release Engineering Leadership
• Define and execute the DevOps roadmap for Cimatron, aligned with the product roadmap, R&D priorities and release objectives.
• Own and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines, build and packaging automation, automated quality gates, release orchestration and deployment processes.
• Increase the reliability, repeatability, security and traceability of software builds and releases across development, test and production-like environments.
• Partner with development and QA leaders to shift quality, security and compliance checks earlier in the software lifecycle.
• Establish engineering standards for source control, branching, artifact management, environment configuration, secrets handling, rollback and release readiness.
• Clarify ownership and interfaces between DevOps, Software Infrastructure, enterprise IT, Information Security and product-development teams.
AI Feature/Tools Team Leadership
• Lead the delivery and industrialization of AI-enabled features for Cimatron products, from technically approved scope through integration, validation, release, and operational monitoring.
• Partner with Product Management to translate prioritized customer and business needs into clear engineering outcomes, acceptance criteria, delivery plans and measurable success indicators.
• Collaborate closely with key stakeholders and ensure AI features are integrated into the CAD/CAM platform using sound software engineering practices, stable APIs, automated testing, and maintainable architecture.
• Oversee the production lifecycle of AI capabilities, including data readiness, reproducible pipelines, model and service versioning, deployment, monitoring, performance, security and cost control.
• Ensure appropriate responsible AI controls, documentation, and human oversight are embedded in feature development and release decisions.
• Use evidence from usage, reliability, model performance, and customer outcomes to prioritize corrective action and continuous improvement.
Team leadership and people management
• Build, lead, mentor, and develop a highly engaged team.
• Define delivery goals, scope, milestones, risks, resource needs, and KPIs for DevOps and AI feature/tools workstreams.
• Conduct performance and development discussions, career planning, coaching, and succession planning.
• Foster a culture of curiosity, accountability, ownership, collaboration, inclusion, and continuous learning.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, retention, and talent development activities.
• Develop team capability and capacity within the team in targeted areas as part of organizational growth and profit plans.
• Ensure and create actions to foster knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
India Innovation Hub Leadership
• Represent Cimatron within the India Innovation Hub and ensure that Cimatron’s local engineering needs, priorities, and perspectives are understood and considered.
• Partner with Innovation Hub and corporate functions on facilities, tools, learning, workforce planning and operational needs, while maintaining clear Cimatron business and delivery accountability.
• Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing with relevant engineering teams across the Innovation Hub without duplicating ownership or creating unclear reporting lines.
Key deliverables and KPIs:
• Predictable software delivery: percentage of committed DevOps and AI roadmap milestones delivered on time and within agreed scope.
• CI/CD effectiveness: pipeline success rate, build stability, automated quality-gate coverage, and reduction in manual release activities.
• Release performance: deployment or release frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate and mean time to restore service or recover the delivery pipeline.
• Operational efficiency: platform and cloud cost visibility, cost-to-serve trends, and measurable automation benefits.
• Team health and capability: engagement, retention, critical-skill coverage, development-plan completion, and succession readiness.Job description Summary
