The Role
The Junior Credit Controller will support the Credit Control Team in managing customer accounts in EMEA, ensuring timely payment of outstanding invoices, and maintaining accurate financial records. This is an entry-level to early-career role, well suited to someone looking to build a career in credit control or in finance more broadly. You'll work closely with senior credit controllers, Customer Care and Sales representatives to keep customer accounts healthy and up to date.
What you will do
Chase outstanding customer debts by phone, email, and letter, in line with company credit policy
Allocate incoming payments accurately to customer accounts
Maintain up-to-date, accurate records of all collection activity in the credit control system
Follow up on queries and disputes relating to invoices, working closely with the Customer Care Claims team
Monitor customer accounts for overdue or delayed payment and take proactive action
Assist in preparing aged debt reports and credit control statistics
Support the wider team with reconciliations and account queries
Send monthly statements to customers
Escalate problem accounts to senior team members or management as needed
Ensure compliance with company credit control procedures
Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, both internal and external
About You
Preferably a bachelor’s degree .
Good written and verbal communication skills
Confident, professional telephone manner
Ability to prioritize and manage a varied workload
Strong numeracy and attention to detail
A proactive, problem-solving attitude
Basic understanding of accounts receivable / credit control processes (previous experience is a plus, but not essential)
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general IT literacy
Experience with ERP software desirable, but not essential
Resilient, and able to handle difficult conversations calmly
Team player with a willingness to learn
Organized, with good time management skills
