Narrative Designer / Writer

We're building the next stage of Heartstrings Games and are looking for a Narrative Designer / Writer to help shape our upcoming game.
Heartstrings is built around shared experiences and human connection. Our games aren't just about telling a story to the player. We want to create situations where two people can experience something together, communicate, make decisions, influence each other, and hopefully learn something about each other along the way.
We're looking for someone who can help us create narrative that supports that experience.
You could be working on:
Story and narrative structure
Character development
Dialogue
Worldbuilding
Interactive storytelling
Two-player co-op narrative
Player choices and interactions
Emotional pacing and memorable moments
Turning narrative ideas into playable experiences
We're open to people from different storytelling backgrounds. You might come from games, film, visual novels, comics, manga, novels, interactive fiction, or another creative medium. You don't necessarily need professional experience in interactive or multiplayer storytelling if you believe you can adapt your skills to it.
We're especially interested in people who can think about how a story can make two players feel something together, rather than treating the narrative as something separate from the gameplay.
We're also looking for someone who can bring their own ideas and defend their creative decisions. You should be comfortable explaining why you think something works, listening to other perspectives, and working toward the best result with a collaborative team.
This is a small team, so we're not looking for someone who only wants to receive tasks and complete them. We want someone who can take an idea, challenge it when necessary, contribute their own perspective, and help turn it into something real.
Strong portfolio required.
This is a project-based revenue-share opportunity. Details about the compensation structure will be shared with serious candidates.
