IT Governance & Assurance Manager

Purpose
Own and mature the governance, assurance and performance management capability for Group IT. The role provides the structure, reporting, control discipline and management insight needed to ensure Group IT operates with clear governance, proportionate assurance, effective risk visibility and reliable performance information. A core part of the role is to coordinate performance reporting and tracking across Group IT, ensuring leadership has a clear view of key measures, trends, risks, actions and decisions. The role also supports IT financial management and vendor
management as part of the wider governance framework, helping provide cost transparency, supplier oversight and decision-quality information for IT leadership.
Experience required
• Experience in IT governance, IT assurance, risk management, control frameworks, audit coordination, operational resilience, supplier governance, IT financial management support, KPI reporting or technology performance tracking.
• Good understanding of technology governance frameworks, policy management, risk registers, control evidence, management action tracking and assurance reporting.
• Experience coordinating governance forums, assurance activity, supplier reviews, policy/control evidence or risk management processes within a technology environment.
• Ability to work with financial, supplier, risk, control and performance information, turning detail into clear leadership insight, scorecards, trend reporting and practical actions.
• Confidence working with Finance, Procurement, Legal, Security, Risk, Compliance, Data Protection and senior IT stakeholders.
• Strong written communication and reporting skills, with the ability to produce concise governance packs that focus attention on decisions, risks, actions and value.
• A pragmatic assurance mindset, balancing governance and control requirements with the need to keep delivery moving.
• Exposure to operational resilience, supplier assurance, ISO/SOC-style control environments, IT audit, regulatory requirements or technology risk frameworks would be advantageous.

• Strong governance discipline, with the ability to create structure, rhythm and evidence without over-engineering process.
• Analytical judgement and attention to detail, especially when interpreting risk, control, supplier, financial and performance information, including KPIs, trends and management actions.
• Commercial awareness and comfort supporting ITFM and vendor management governance without needing to be the sole commercial owner.
• Clear, concise and structured communication with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to influence and coordinate across teams without relying on formal authority.
• Pragmatism, resilience and discretion when handling sensitive governance, risk, supplier, financial or assurance matters.
