Role Description The Junior Rebar Detailer is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Madurai Area. The role involves preparing accurate rebar shop drawings and bar bending schedules from structural and architectural plans, following relevant codes and project specifications. Responsibilities include interpreting construction drawings, coordinating with senior detailers and engineers, and updating drawings based on design changes or site feedback. The Junior Rebar Detailer will use detailing software or CAD tools to model rebar layouts, check for clashes and constructability issues, and ensure correct dimensions, quantities, and annotations. The role also includes maintaining organized project documentation, collaborating with site and office teams, and meeting project timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings, with strong attention to detail and accuracy in rebar placement and quantities.
Basic proficiency in CAD or rebar detailing software (e.g., AutoCAD or equivalent) and comfort working with digital drawings and models.
Understanding of fundamental civil/structural engineering concepts, concrete reinforcement practices, and relevant standards or codes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify drawing inconsistencies, potential clashes, and constructability issues.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with senior detailers, engineers, and site teams, including the ability to follow instructions and ask clarifying questions.
Good organizational skills to manage multiple drawings, revisions, and documentation within project deadlines.
Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; prior internship or exposure to rebar detailing, construction drawings, or structural drafting is an advantage.
Willingness to learn, adapt to company standards and workflows, and build a long-term career in rebar detailing.
