Senior QA Engineer | Python, 3D Geometry & Computational Algorithms

Luxoft | DXC Technology is looking for a Senior QA Engineer to join a software engineering team developing computational software for a global client in the medical technology sector.
You will focus on validating complex 3D geometry, numerical data and computational algorithms, ensuring accurate, stable and reliable results. This role is ideal for a QA professional with a strong analytical background and experience testing scientific, geometric or algorithm intensive software.
What you will do
• Design and execute test strategies for computational, geometric and numerical algorithms
• Validate results against reference datasets, expected values and defined tolerances
• Test 3D geometry, meshes, point clouds and numerical pipelines
• Assess numerical stability, precision, boundary conditions and edge cases
• Develop Python scripts for data validation, regression testing and automated comparisons
• Create test datasets and document verification and validation activities
• Collaborate with developers to investigate defects and integrate automated checks into CI pipelines
What you need
• 4+ years of experience in software QA or test engineering, including computational, numerical, geometric, scientific or simulation software
• Hands on experience with CAD/CAM/CAE, 3D geometry, mesh processing, image or signal processing, simulation or other algorithm intensive software
• Strong Python scripting skills, ideally with NumPy, SciPy, pandas or pytest
• Experience validating numerical accuracy, geometric correctness, tolerances and edge cases
• Experience with data level testing and automated validation rather than primarily UI testing
• Ability to produce structured verification and validation documentation with requirements traceability
• Strong analytical and mathematical skills
• Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering or a related field
• Fluent English, written and spoken
Nice to have
• Experience with 3D manufacturing, computational geometry or digital manufacturing
• Familiarity with libraries such as trimesh, Open3D, VTK or PyVista
• Experience in regulated environments, particularly medical technology
• Familiarity with C++, CI/CD tools and test management platforms
