We are looking for someone Senior DevOps Engineer (m/f/d) With sound technical experience and comprehensive knowledge in the fields of automation and programming.
VALEO IT offers a flexible, open and standard-based cloud platform for managing an extensive infrastructure for global data exchange as well as a development platform with an integrated toolchain that enables collaboration between different companies in the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
Ensuring the smooth operation of all systems and integrations, including system maintenance, monitoring of system activities, recording of system statistics, and analysis and resolution of reported errors and warning messages.
Development of best practice recommendations and implementation of demanding technical solutions.
Building and maintaining continuous CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
Managing application configurations across numerous AWS environments distributed worldwide.
Development of monitoring, diagnostic and debugging tools as well as dashboards and configuration of alerts to be able to react quickly in the event of disruptions.
Ensuring the security and compliance of all cloud resources by integrating proven security practices, such as for managing secrets, key rotation, and other security requirements. Creating and enforcing security policies, as well as providing cloud security tools for monitoring and securing access.
Close collaboration with development teams to ensure that platforms are designed from the outset with their operational capabilities in mind.
Automating manual processes, creating technical documentation for end users and developers, optimizing data delivery, and further developing the infrastructure to improve scalability.
Quick and dedicated handling of critical incidents through prioritizing, analyzing, and resolving problems in production environments.
Taking responsibility for the overall system availability, performance, and capacity of our platforms.
Proactive identification of improvement potential through regular performance monitoring and capacity analyses, as well as recommendations for appropriate system upgrades and security measures (hardening).
Qualifications
Experience with incident-, problem- and change-management processes as well as in handling critical incidents.
Experience in the design, development, and management of release systems, code merging, code promotion, and CI/CD workflows.
Knowledge of container architectures and technologies such as Docker, as well as container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Experience with programming languages and technologies such as Java, Python, and Bash, as well as with distributed architectures.
Experience in administering and maintaining SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and DynamoDB.
Thorough network knowledge in the field of cloud or Linux systems is mandatory.
Ability to analyze and troubleshoot in complex systems.
Thorough experience with AWS as a cloud provider is mandatory.
Experience with AWS China is an advantage.
Experience with Linux-based infrastructures.
Knowledge of using proxies such as NGINX or HAProxy.
Experience in monitoring and supporting RESTful APIs.
Knowledge of configuration management and the use of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git, and Helm charts.
Experience with automation tools such as Terragrunt, Terraform, and Ansible.
Experience with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus and Loki.
Thorough understanding of Kubernetes resources (nodes, pods, deployments, services, etc.) as well as security concepts through the use of Network Policies or Kyverno-specific resources.
Experience with installing and configuring the following tools is a major advantage: GitHub Enterprise, Gitea, Artifactory, Confluence, Jira, Grafana, Jenkins, and Vault.

You have the following At least 5 years of proven experience in the maintenance and operation of large production systems, as well as with technologies such as load balancing, monitoring, distributed systems, and configuration management.
You possess practical knowledge of cloud-native architectures and best practices in the AWS Cloud.
You are actively looking for ways to automate recurring tasks.
You value DevOps and GitOps practices, infrastructure as code (IaC) versioning, and automation.
You proactively identify performance bottlenecks and performance degradation.
You are convinced that transparency, auditing, and KPIs for monitoring the overall state of software and infrastructure are crucial for continuous improvement.
You have experience in working with and managing external service providers.
You possess strong skills in error analysis and troubleshooting and enjoy investigating and solving complex problems.
You possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to create technical documentation and process descriptions.
You hold a bachelor's degree or a comparable combination of education and current, relevant work experience.
