MEP Draftsman

Job Summary
The MEP Draftsman will be responsible for preparing, developing, and coordinating Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) drawings and models based on engineering designs, project specifications, and construction requirements. The role involves 2D drafting, 3D BIM modelling, clash coordination, and preparation of construction and as-built drawings.
Job Responsibilities
Prepare detailed MEP drawings based on engineering designs, specifications, and project requirements.
Develop HVAC, plumbing, electrical, firefighting, and other MEP service drawings.
Prepare plans, sections, elevations, layouts, detailed drawings, and shop drawings for MEP systems.
Develop and maintain 2D CAD drawings and 3D BIM models as required.
Coordinate MEP services with architectural, structural, and precast drawings and models.
Identify and resolve clashes between MEP services and architectural or structural elements.
Prepare coordinated drawings for site execution and construction.
Incorporate design revisions and update drawings based on site requirements.
Prepare as-built drawings reflecting actual site conditions and installations.
Coordinate with MEP Engineers, BIM Coordinators, Architects, Structural Teams, and Site Engineers.
Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, standards, and drafting/BIM requirements.
Assist with quantity take-offs and preparation of MEP-related schedules when required.
Review drawings for accuracy, dimensions, levels, annotations, and constructability before submission.
Support BIM model updates and maintain project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualification & Skills Required
Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or a related engineering discipline.
5–7 years of relevant experience in MEP drafting and detailing.
Strong knowledge of MEP drafting and detailing.
Good understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and firefighting systems.
Proficiency in AutoCAD.
Working knowledge of Revit MEP and BIM.
Understanding of MEP coordination and clash detection.
Ability to read and interpret engineering, architectural, and structural drawings.
Knowledge of shop drawings, construction drawings, and as-built drawings.
Understanding of building services and MEP installation practices.
Basic knowledge of precast construction and coordination will be an added advantage.
