Job Title: Sr Account Executive I, (Physical Systems Simulation)
Location: Spain (Remote)
Reports to: Sales Director
Job Overview:
As an Account Executive, you’ll grow Cadence’s Physical Systems Simulation business in your territory, selling simulation software to engineering teams at manufacturers in sectors such as automotive, aerospace and industrial equipment. You’ll own the full sales cycle, from first conversation to signed deal. You’ll work with technical sales engineers to show customers how simulation can improve their product design, efficiency and innovation.
Job Responsibilities:Sales strategy and execution
Build and deliver a sales strategy for computer-aided engineering (CAE) simulation in your territory, focusing on automotive, aerospace, defence, industrial equipment and electronics.
Identify and prioritise target customers, including original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Tier 1 suppliers and R&D-driven organisations.
Win new business and build relationships with engineering teams, R&D departments and decision-makers.
Revenue generation and business development
Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting to closing high-value deals with enterprise customers.
Develop a consultative sales approach to demonstrate how CAE simulation, FEA, CFD, MBS and Multiphysics software can optimize product design and engineering processes.
Identify and win upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
Partner with technical sales engineers on product demonstrations and proof-of-concept projects.
Teamwork and collaboration
Collaborate with technical teams, product managers and marketing to deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Keep accurate records of sales activity, pipeline and forecasts in our CRM (customer relationship management) system.
Market and competitive analysis
Track CAE industry trends, emerging technologies and competitors, and use them to refine your sales strategy.
Share customer and market feedback with R&D and product management to help shape the product roadmap.
Represent Cadence at industry conferences, trade shows and technical symposiums (for example NAFEMS, ASME, SAE and AIAA).
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electronic Engineering preferred or Business Degree.
3+ years of experience in enterprise software sales and 8+ years of software sales experience
Strong background in selling FEA, CFD, MBS or multiphysics software solutions (e.g. MSC Software, ANSYS, Abaqus, Simpack, COMSOL, Siemens Simcenter, Altair HyperWorks, Autodesk CFD).
Experience managing complex, technical sales cycles with enterprise customers and engineering teams
A track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas in engineering software
Understanding of CAE workflows
Ability to explain engineering simulation concepts clearly to both technical and business audiences
Ability to build relationships with engineers, CTOs and R&D leaders
Negotiation and presentation skills
Willingness to keep learning as simulation technology and customer needs evolve
Fluent in English
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and digital twin technologies
Familiarity with CRM tools such as Salesforce, and with the Microsoft Office suite
Travel: Up to 50% local or International travel, for client meetings, industry events and technical workshops
