We’re looking for a curious and detail-oriented QA Engineer who can understand business requirements deeply and ensure quality across web, mobile, APIs, and databases.
Experience in the Insurance domain is preferred, but more importantly, we’re looking for someone who is eager to understand new business domains, ask the right questions, and continuously learn.
Key Responsibilities
Understand business requirements, user journeys, and acceptance criteria before starting testing.
Prepare and execute functional, integration, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test scenarios.
Test applications across:
Web applications
Mobile applications
REST APIs
Database layer
Validate APIs using tools such as Postman / Swagger.
Perform database validation using SQL/PostgreSQL/MySQL.
Identify, document, track, and retest defects with clear reproduction steps.
Work closely with Developers, Product, Business, and Design teams.
Validate complete business workflows rather than testing individual screens in isolation.
Understand application architecture, APIs, authentication, databases, logs, environments, deployments, and other common software concepts.
Participate in requirement discussions and proactively identify missing scenarios, edge cases, and potential business issues.
Perform production sanity checks and support release validation when required.
Continuously improve test coverage and overall QA processes.
What We’re Looking For
2–3 years of experience in Software Quality Assurance.
Strong understanding of business requirements and business workflows.
Insurance domain knowledge is highly preferred.
Curious mindset with the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar domains.
Strong knowledge of manual testing concepts and software development lifecycle.
Experience testing Web, Mobile, APIs, and Databases.
Good understanding of APIs, HTTP methods, request/response structures, JSON, authentication, and status codes.
Ability to write SQL queries for backend/database validation.
Good understanding of software technical terminology and how modern applications work.
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to independently investigate issues rather than depending entirely on developers.
Good communication and documentation skills.
Automation
Experience with QA Automation using tools/frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, Appium, or similar technologies will be an added advantage.
Candidates should have a strong interest in learning automation independently and gradually contributing to automated test coverage.
Preferred Mindset
We value someone who:
Thinks from both a customer and business perspective.
Questions requirements when something does not make logical sense.
Explores beyond the happy path.
Is comfortable learning new technologies and domains.
Takes ownership of product quality.
Uses modern tools, including AI-assisted tools, to improve testing productivity and learning.
