Role Description
The Cybersecurity Specialist / Cybersecurity Engineer / Cloud Security Architect protects organizational systems, applications, and data from cyber threats. Depending on the assigned specialization, the role involves monitoring and investigating security events, implementing security controls, or designing secure cloud architectures that meet business and risk requirements.
The successful candidate will collaborate with IT, engineering, risk, and business teams to assess vulnerabilities, strengthen defenses, and support incident response. This position also develops security standards, automates security processes, and evaluates the effectiveness of controls. Architecture responsibilities may include defining cloud security patterns and guiding their adoption across projects.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Relevant experience in cybersecurity operations, security engineering, or cloud security, depending on the assigned specialization.
For architect positions, demonstrated experience designing cloud security solutions and guiding implementation across teams.
Strong understanding of networking, operating systems, identity and access management, encryption, and security principles.
Experience with vulnerability assessment, secure configuration, security monitoring, and incident response.
Familiarity with tools such as SIEM platforms, endpoint protection, vulnerability scanners, and firewalls.
Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud and their security capabilities.
For cloud-focused positions, experience with least-privilege access, network segmentation, key management, logging, and cloud security posture management.
Familiarity with threat modeling, application security, infrastructure as code, and CI/CD security.
Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or another scripting language for security automation.
Strong analytical skills, sound judgment, and commitment to confidentiality and professional integrity.
Clear communication skills and the ability to explain security risks and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, cloud security certifications, or equivalent are an advantage.
