Master Thesis Internship - AI-Driven Transistor Design Exploration

Being part of the NXP Design Enablement (DE) global team as a Master Student offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of semiconductor design, software engineering, and AI innovation.
In this role, you will:
Develop an AI-Agent that will use an internal device exploration and characterization tool to evaluate trade-offs between performance, mismatch, area, power, and technology options.
Learn about device optimization, process and design-space exploration, operating-condition checks to support transistor-level design decisions.
Help establish, together with the NXP team, efficient, best-in-class methodologies that support NXP design centers worldwide.
Work in a multicultural, global environment alongside NXP design organizations across the world.

Your Profile
Enrolled in a Master’s degree in Electronics or Artificial Intelligence (or related fields).
Proficient with Python language development and experience with ML libraries (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, pyQT).
Strong analytical, problem solving mindset and willingness to explore complex engineering environments.
Ability to work independently and communicate results clearly.
Linux environment (all our development tools are running on this platform)
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills in English.
Nice to Have:
Interest in EDA tools, semiconductor design flows, or engineering automation (experience not required).
Data engineering or pipeline tools.
Git, Jira.
Prior AI/ML project experience (academic or personal).
