About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Lead Network Engineer (Cisco ACI / F5) | 📍 Remote + quarterly visits to Veldhoven, NL | 💸 €415-460/day DOE
I'm working with a major international high-tech business looking for a Lead Network Engineer to own their global Cisco ACI fabric, on a contract until the end of 2026 initially.
They're in the middle of some big changes to their data centre network: ESG micro-segmentation, F5 No-SNAT migrations, bringing Kubernetes workloads onto ACI and moving to proper Infrastructure as Code. So this role is about leading that work, not just keeping things running.
This is a particularly good role for someone who loves the architecture side as much as the hands-on side. You'll design the services, write the tooling and see it through into production.
What you'll be doing:
Leading the architecture, security and service design of a global Cisco ACI fabric across production data centres
Defining tiered ADC and DC LAN service offerings (Bronze/Silver/Gold) with clear SLOs
Delivering F5 BIG-IP Dual-PBR No-SNAT migrations on ACI 6.0, including config bundles, deployment scripts and validation docs
Driving the ESG micro-segmentation strategy and migrations, and building Python tooling to support them
Designing secure incident recovery environments using ACI VRF remap, so failover can be tested without touching production
Designing Cilium BGP L3Out integration for Kubernetes workloads on ACI
Building hybrid IaC pipelines (Terraform for Day 1, Ansible/AWX for Day 2) for F5 services, with provisioning triggered from ServiceNow
Keeping fabric availability high, CVE patching on schedule and zero-trust segmentation audit scores strong
What they're looking for:
Deep hands-on Cisco ACI experience: Multi-Pod, Multi-Site, ESG, PBR Service Graphs, APIC REST API
Solid Nexus 9K/7K/5K, VXLAN and vPC experience
Strong F5 BIG-IP skills: LTM, GTM/DNS, iRules, PBR, DSR, SNAT/No-SNAT
Citrix NetScaler experience
Experience leading data centre network design and complex migrations
Nice to have: automation with Terraform, Ansible/AWX, Python, and CI/CD (GitLab, GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps)
The details:
Contract until end of 2026 initially
€415-460/day DOE
Remote, with quarterly visits to Veldhoven, Netherlands
If you're an ACI and F5 specialist who wants to shape the network rather than just maintain it, I'd love to hear from you.
