Job Summary
The Global Process Owner Plan-to-Perform (P2P) is responsible for the transformation, governance and enhancement of Plan-to-Perform processes across the organization. In scope of P2P are the planning, budgeting and forecasting processes, management reporting and performance analysis, cost and profitability accounting (cost centers, profit centers, internal orders, allocations, product and service costing), variance analysis and the business partnering cycle with operations and functions.
This role plays a critical leadership position in the SAP S/4HANA public cloud implementation program, driving the design, build and global roll-out of standardized Controlling and Management Accounting processes together with the connected planning and analytics platform (SAP Analytics Cloud). The position leads the P2P workstream through the template build phase and subsequent multi-country implementations, ensuring strict adherence to SAP Best Practices and Fit-to-Standard principles.
The position must collaborate with functional departments on global, cluster and country level while influencing decisions where required. The Global Process Owner is responsible for designing and implementing standardized best-in-class end-to-end processes, defending the global template against local deviations, and ensuring one consistent management view of performance across the group. Additionally, the role drives the establishment and continuous improvement of P2P Shared Services operations (reporting, planning support and cost accounting activities), delivering excellent value to the business in line with agreed operating targets.
Job Responsibilities:
Strategy & Governance
Vision and roadmap. Drive the global Plan-to-Perform vision and roadmap. Turn group strategy into operational goals with senior stakeholders from Global Finance, Group Controlling and Cluster Finance. Support the Finance Transformation, the Target Operating Model and Finance Shared Services. Manage the links with Record-to-Report and Master Data Management.
Policies, standards and process documentation. Define global templates, guidelines and policies: planning calendar, forecasting method, management reporting standards, allocation and costing rules. Maintain the process knowledge base (process maps, roles, controls, change log) and oversee compliance.
Process integrity: Fit-to-Standard, changes and exceptions. Lead Fit-to-Standard for Controlling and Management Accounting. Approve or reject deviations, configuration decisions, change requests and their business cases, and country or station exceptions, each based on a stated reason and an impact analysis. Validate local requirements during country adoption and protect the global core.
Global Design
End-to-end process blueprint. Own the standard Plan-to-Perform process and review it regularly with stakeholders to drive best practice and adoption.
Management reporting and Reporting Factory. Define and own the group management reporting framework: one KPI catalogue, a standard report suite, and common definitions and calculation logic. Keep it as a single source of truth reconciled to the statutory ledger. Define the vision, scope and operating principles of the Reporting Factory, using agentic AI.
Management accounting structures. Define the S/4HANA management accounting structures with the GPO Master Data Management: controlling area, cost center and profit center hierarchies, internal orders and projects, allocation cycles and margin analysis characteristics.
S/4HANA Public Cloud Programme
Plan-to-Perform workstream lead. Lead the workstream within the programme's governance and timelines. Act as business lead: turn process requirements into IT requirements and work with IT and the implementation partner on Controlling, SAP Analytics Cloud, Group Reporting and the wider data landscape. Assess the twice-yearly SAP releases and decide which features to switch on.
Roll-outs and transition to operations. Act as the global expert and main contact during country and cluster roll-outs. Ensure a smooth move through hypercare and stabilization, then hand over to Shared Services and business-as-usual teams.
Change and adoption. Drive change management for Finance and budget holders so the standard Controlling processes and the new planning and reporting tools are adopted. Define role-based training for controllers, business partners and budget holders, and keep it up to date as processes change. Build a global community of controllers and business partners to sustain standardization after go-live.
Operations & Continuous Improvement
Plan-to-Perform Shared Services. Design and set up the Shared Services teams (management reporting, planning support, cost accounting). Agree the split of tasks with clusters and countries and lead the transfer of local activities, keeping business partnering close to operations. Support the first months of operation.
Performance and continuous improvement. Define process KPIs and service levels (cycle times, forecast accuracy, reporting timeliness, SLAs, internal customer satisfaction). Monitor performance, take corrective action, and run a continuous improvement roadmap focused on automation, efficiency and standardization.
Qualifications and Competencies:
University Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling or related field; professional qualification (CMA, CIMA or equivalent) preferred with minimum 7 years in Controlling, FP&A and process management
Deep understanding of P2P processes (planning, budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, cost and profitability accounting) and their link to IFRS financial reporting
Proven SAP S/4HANA implementation experience with deep knowledge of Controlling (CO-OM, CO-PC, Margin Analysis), Universal Journal integration of FI and CO, SAP Analytics Cloud planning and SAP Best Practices
Demonstrated track record in large-scale SAP programs including global template design, multi-country roll-outs and standardized implementations
Experience with Shared Services concepts and implementation, including the split between transactional controlling activities and retained business partnering
Strong stakeholder management with ability to defend global templates and reporting standards against local deviations and secure buy-in across global locations and organizational levels
Excellent project management of global teams in matrix structures with strong analytical, modelling and process optimization skills
Hands-on, results-driven with excellent learning agility, high energy and ability to challenge status-quo for best-in-class solutions
Excellent communication skills with high proficiency in English, able to articulate financial performance clearly at all organizational levels
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and align multiple process owner roles across complex, interdependent Finance domains in a global matrix environment
Willingness to travel globally up to 30%
